I get a lot of cd’s to review. Some I just take one look at and can tell that it’s going to suck shit. Others I take a look at and know it’s going to kick my ass. This, based on the artwork alone, I knew was going to be intriguing and I was curious to see what awaited me. What I got was a very chill and relaxing blend of indie rock melancholy and some strings to add a little flavor. Taking cues from the more subdued moments of older Modest Mouse, some Ida, and even a little Tortoise in their less electronic strides TTATA (who have quite a terrible name I might add) have offered me a platter of songs, which really helped me on the right day. It just so happened that I gave this a listen while under extreme duress and stressed out of my skull. I gotta say I’m just a bit more chilled out now. Thanks!
